What is this Messenger Service?

Our messenger is just like MSN/Yahoo! etc, with one main difference - ours is SECURE. Every message you send to your contacts is encrypted with 'SSL' - this means no one can monitor what you are talking about - privacy is a good thing!

Did you know.....

Microsoft, Yahoo, and all other chat services can be monitored by their staff, this means the conversations you have with your friends can be watched by someone - invasion of privacy if you ask me, hence the reason we started this service.

Our Service

Our service is based on 'Jabber', an open source messaging system. This installation is just one way you can get access to our service, for more available clients please see this ..client list..

	How to Install: First, download 'JAJC' from here: http://jajc.ksn.ru/download.php?id=4 Once downloaded simply run the file and install like you would any other program. Go to the next step.... ------------------------------ This program is called 'Just another Jabber client' which supports encrypted connections and handy plug-ins, for more information please see: http://jajc.ksn.ru/index.php?action=2 ------------------------------
	After you have downloaded the program and installed it the first screen you will see is this one. Tick 'No' Click 'Next'
	The next screen looks like this. Enter 'scotlandchat.co.uk' as the Server Choose the Name you would like, we used BoredChatter69 as an example but yours will probably be your IRC nickname. Enter the Password you would like to use then enter it again for Conformation.
	Unless you know what a Proxy is you do not need to make any changes to this screen. Click 'Next'
	If the Name you chose was available you should see a Congratulations! message pop-up. This tells you your account has been created successfully. Well Done! Click 'OK'
	We're almost done! Tick 'Start JAJC now' Tick 'Start JAJC with windows' if you want the messenger to automatically start when you switch your pc on. Click 'Next'
	You should now see the messenger program, cool ain't it? We will now encrypt the connection to make your chat secure. Click the 'Lighbulb' icon Click on 'Tools' Click on 'Accounts' Click on 'Setup'
	This window should now pop-up.. Click the 'Connection' tab Tick 'Use SSL' Click 'OK'
	A security warning will be displayed. Tick 'Add this host to list of known hosts and continue' Click 'Continue'
	Thats it!! Well done you now have our secure instant messenger. You will obviously want to add some contacts to your list... Click the 'Lightbulb' icon Click 'Add contact'
	In the 'JID' field enter the person's ID you wish to add... JID's look like this... 'user@scotlandchat.co.uk' where user is the person's nickname... Choose a friendly nickname for the person Choose a group, something like 'Friends' will do. Click 'Next' Just like with MSN/Yahoo! every contact you add must be authorised by the person, when someone adds you to their list you will get a message asking if you wish to authorise this person to add you.
